Trusty new typewriter, not-trustworthy Chevy Chevette & “Kuderistics”

Screenshot of a tweet made by Thayne McCullohAs many of you may know, Dr. McCulloh does a phenomenal job of “tweeting” – his primary audience is our students, alumni – anyone and all who are in the Zag community.  His tweet from this morning (pasted to the left) is something I thought you might enjoy seeing (just in case you have not been on Twitter today!).  His clever post speaks to the beginning of his GU story.  What he is not sharing is that TODAY is also his birthday.  He is slightly older than 35, will not share beyond that…

We are incredibly blessed by his service at GU… these tweets offer a glimpse into his mind and the philosophies and values he brings to his leadership, which touches each of us.  On his day, I would like to express gratitude for him and to each of you for the many ways in which you support him personally and the stretch each of you makes to support GU and this wonderful Zag community.

To offer one additional view into the benefits of the leadership he brings to our community, I would like to provide you with the reflections he shared with those who gathered for the Vigil in honor of Father Steve Kuder this last Sunday evening.  You will note that Thayne shares Father Kuder was one of the first Jesuits he met (some 35 years ago…) and the influence this friendship has had on him.   You can read his comments at the link provided below or view the actual Vigil, as well (Thayne’s comments being at the 39-minute mark).  I have taken the liberty to entitle his reflection as “Kuderistics”… if you get a chance to read/view, you will see why.  What a tribute to a man who influenced, mentored, and cared for thousands of Zags.  We honor his legacy by carrying forward these – “Kuderistics.”

Wishing each of you a peaceful weekend.  Oh, and P.S. – we are one week out from our biggest freshmen class – ever – moving in.  Their GU story starts very soon.  We are ready because of individuals like each of you, like Thayne, and most especially, Father Kuder.
